Oct 2010, Phnom Penh: PCPM is partner of the "Academy Day" of the GTZ target group "Governance in Asia"

In cooperation with GTZ (Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit), Potsdam University's PCPM is going to present the "Academy Day" as part of the annual meeting "Government and Democracy in Asia". Bringing together up to 100 participants from Asian countries, this year's meeting entitled "Learning and Innovation in the Asian Public Sector" will be held in Cambodia between October 27 and 28.

On October 29, 2010, the PCPM held a "Climate Breakfast" with Professor Rosina M. Bierbaum, Co-Director of the World Development Report 2010. The talk was organised within the framework of PROGRESS and the course "Global Environmental Policy" taught by Detlef Sprinz , Ph.D. (Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research - PIK) of the postgraduate Master's Program in Public Policy and Management (PPM). Prof. Bierbaum was named to President Obama’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology in 2009, has been dean of the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources and Environment since 2001 and worked as consultant in the Bush as well as Clinton administration. In the discussion, Prof. Bierbaum emphasized that scientists shall learn to frame their insigths also in a political language to make them relevant.
